Rooky's Nook is located in the heart of the rural hamlet of Trewalder, on the north coast of Cornwall. Local shops, restaurants and pubs can be found either 1 mile away in St Teath, approximately 5 miles away in Port Isaac, Tintagel or Camelford, or 11 miles away in Wadebridge or Bodmin . The capital city of Truro, with its cathedral and shopping centre is easily reached by car. The closest beach is Trebarwith Strand, with a great sandy beach (when the tide's out), and fantastic walks along coastal footpaths (when the tide's in).

The pretty fishing village of Port Isaac
Rooky's Nook is ideally situated to take advantage of the stunning North Cornwall coastline and its fantastic beaches, the ancient castle of Tintagel and the King Arthur legends, and picturesque village of Boscastle, and the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac. Slightly south of Rooky's Nook is the Camel Estuary and the Camel Trail, a 17 mile cycle track, Rock and Padstow, and the beautiful sandy beach at Daymer Bay. Other delights of this magnificent Cornish coast can be found in places like Polzeath, Newquay and Bude where the rolling Atlantic breakers offer exhilarating year-round surfing.

Alternatively head inland onto Bodmin Moor and discover some of it's archaeological heritage and mining history, visiting Rough Tor one of it's highest points, or many other Tors which the 18th century 'druid's' worshipped as 'rock idols'.

If you're interested in Cornwall's historic houses, then Lanhydrock and Pencarrow, plus many other National Trust 'treasures' are all easily reached by car.

If you're a golfer, why not come and play Bowood, St Kew, St Enodoc, Roserrow and Trevose - all challenging 18 hole championship golf courses.

 

If you love gardens, then come and visit some of the wonderful Gardens of Cornwall, including the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan - just a 40-minute drive away.

By the end of your holiday you will probably find you haven't managed to visit all the amazing attractions Cornwall has to offer, and so you will need to come back again, where Rooky's Nook offers you the ideal luxury holiday cottage from which to do as much or as little as you fancy!

Follow the A30 towards Launceston. After by-passing Launceston, at Kennards House, take the A395 signed for North Cornwall and Camelford.

Follow this road approximately 15 miles until reaching a T-junction with the A39. Turn left onto the A39 towards Camelford and Wadebridge.

Drive through Camelford town centre, still on the A39 and carry on in the direction of Wadebridge, passing through the hamlet of Helstone, after which the road widens to three lanes.

The sign for Trewalder is on the right, just before the bottom of the hill. Turn right, leaving the A39 and follow the lane, passing through Treforda, and then Bodulgate (large dairy farm), and on into Trewalder.

Rooky's Nook entrance (shared with Bell Cottage) is on the right, directly opposite Trewalder House (large farm house with tarmac entrance). Pull inside the gate and park beside Rooky's Nook.
